B.A.R.S. Club Contacts
Keith Peterson at kpeters8@ford.com
Keith is a long-time
BARS member who is currently serving on the club's leadership committee. He can
be found running anything from a 5K, Dances with Dirt, Great Lakes Relay
as well as four Boston Marathons. Keith is
like the mailman when it comes to running the Brighton course on Wednesday nights.
He runs through rain, sleet, snow and sun. He has received numerous
humanitarian awards during his years with BARS most recently being presented
with the Road Striders Achievement of Excellence in recognition of his
outstanding dedication and support to the sport of running in 2008.
Bob Smith at bosmith8@earthlink.net
Bob's been a member
of BARS since shortly after it began. He put the club on the 'net in 1994,
was voted Road Strider of the Year in '96, and was honored in 2000 when the
club renamed the award after him. Bob’s back doesn’t agree with
running anymore, but he fishes, golf's and is involved with community
projects through the Brighton Optimist Club. A chronic volunteer, he can be
seen helping at numerous races every year.
Steve Marciniak at Steve.Marciniak@yahoo.com
Joining the Brighton
Area Road Striders was the introduction to Steve’s involvement into
running community. Since joining within the past five years, he has
participated in all types of races including Half and Full Marathons. Steve
has become involved with the operations of the Detroit Turkey Trot and
Corktown race, so he is always there to encourage BARS members to give it the
extra kick during the race. While trying to be competitive, Steve also places
a high importance on the enjoyment and social aspect a running club can
provide. He always looks for new members and encourages the participation of
beginning runners and walkers in groups.
Jonathan
Miller at jpmred09@yahoo.com
Jonathan has been a
BARS member since 2000. He's very active in the local running
community, whether it be volunteering at Brighton-area races, working on the
Hungry Duck Run race committee, or managing the Brighton Runnin' Gear
store. Some of his favorite things are cool, flat half-marathons,
discovering new running trails, and cold "Canadian Gatorade".
Robert Cameron at robacameron2@yahoo.com
Robert joined BARS in
2004 as an 18-year-old beginning runner.
He has since developed a much stronger devotion to the sport and has
completed several marathons including Boston. He has also run many of the well-known
local races. Since joining BARS
he has made good friends with many members and likes to include himself in
our various club activities. He
has now offered to help maintain the BARS website.
